Our NeuroInterventionalists are both board certified and have Certificates of Additional Qualification in Neuroradiology. They are also fellowship trained in Interventional Neuroradiology/Endovascular Neurosurgery and have over 20 years experience. We have access to the latest technologies used in acute interventional stroke treatment including specialized catheter based mechanical devices such as the MERCI device and the K-Mini Version of the device available at only 9 stroke centers in the United States. Humanitarian Exemption devices for aneurysm treatment include the Neuroform Stent used in stent assisted cerebral aneurysm therapy and the Wingspan Intracranial Stent for treatment of intracranial vascular stenosis. Our center has performed liquid embolic therapy of cerebral vascular malformations for over 12 years with the longest experience in the Western Pennsylvania Region. Liquid agents include Onyx, n-BCA glue, and ethanol sclerotherapy for tumor/vessel ablation. |
